RVU Faculty and Staff Awards
On Wednesday, May 30, Rocky Vista University announced the winners of the 2018 Faculty and Staff awards. The annual event recognizes trendsetting staff and faculty who not only improve RVU as a whole, but who also inspire their co-workers. Clinton Adams, DO, FACHE, President and CEO of RVU, hosted the event.
With three deserving nominees, winning the Administrative Support Personnel Award for Excellence is no easy accomplishment. Each of the candidates were chosen by colleagues for having both exemplary drive and ingenuity. Justine Holck, Residency Training Coordinator, Internal Medicine Residency at Sky Ridge Medical Center, won the highly coveted prize.
“This year’s winner exemplifies all the core values and is committed to the vision and values of RVU,” Dr. Adams said, “she has willingly and selflessly supported all the residency programs and their coordinators in the startup and developmental phase.”
This year’s Staff Innovator Award was no less competitive. With an abundance of resourcefulness and creativity, each of the four nominees were worthy of the distinction. Sarah Chavez, Assistant Director of Student Financial Services and Francine Lata, Director of Student Financial Services, were selected as co-winners of the award.
“These two individuals were recognized for their core values of integrity and excellence,” said Dr. Adams, “They demonstrated innovation by creating a standard of excellence with student loans and government audits in the student financial services department.”
Two highly deserving faculty members were given the Presidential Award of Excellence this year. Both of the winners were part of the inaugural RVU staff and they each helped create the current curriculum. Walter R. Buck, PhD, Chair and Professor of the Department of Structural Medicine, and Michael Martin, PhD, Associate Dean for Integrated Curriculum, were selected for their tireless efforts in the class room.
