RVUers Roll Up Their Sleeves for the COVID-19 Vaccine

Shortly after a national rollout of the Moderna and Pfizer-BioNTech vaccines, the Rocky Vista Health Center (RVHC) set up weekly clinics to vaccinate members of the Parker and other local communities. Led by the Global Medicine Track, students quickly signed up to volunteer to administer the first and second doses of the Moderna vaccine, including vaccinating their fellow students and RVU faculty and staff!

During one of the events, first-year medical student Erin Herbstova administered the first dose of the vaccine to fellow student doctor Adrianna Hammack, OMS I. “It was such a phenomenal and well-run event. I am grateful to have been a part of.”

In mid-April, the Southern Utah campus was also approved to administer the first and second doses of the Moderna vaccine. Much like on the Colorado campus, students signed up as volunteers to vaccinate RVUers, as well as their families and friends.

News of upcoming vaccine clinics can be found on RVU’s social media channels and on the website.
